Ranking System

The majority of individuals in Cartomancy are born with a Mark; a Suit and Numeral pair. A Suit refers to one of the four shapes/colors that Mark takes; a red Heart, a blue Spade, a green Clover, or a yellow Diamond. A Numeral refers the letter or number that appears within the shape, ranking from Ace to King. One's Mark defines their kingdom and the career path they are best suited for (enforced by the Law of Suits). 

 

 

 

 

Aces (A)

Meant for inherent loyalty, Aces are raised to fulfill whatever purpose is required of them by their King or Queen. Commonly, they are raised as assassins/guards for the crown. Very feared.

 

 

 

Fours (4)

Meant for building, Fours are the engineers and architects of the kingdoms. Naturally adept at construction, framework, and the skills necessary for it.

 

 

Sevens (7)

Meant for performance and art, Sevens are taught in a wide range of artistic skills (acting, singing, dancing, painting, etc.). Naturally talented and aesthetically pleasing. 

 

 

 

Tens (10)

Twos (2)

Meant for servitude, Twos are raised to aide in the household and cleaning tasks required of the kingdoms. Naturally hardworking and efficient.

 

 

Threes (3)

Meant for gathering, Threes handle agriculture and animal care. Naturally have a sense for the land or animals.

 

 

Fives (5)

Meant for business, Fives are raised to handle the financial aspect in the kingdoms. Naturally good at negotiation and money-related skills.

 

Eights (8)

Meant for scholarly-pursuits and advisement, Eights pursue a wide range of research subjects. Naturally intelligent and inquisitive.

 

Jacks (J)

Sixes (6)

Meant for war and protection, Sixes are raised for military purposes. Naturally skilled in battle and strategy with enhanced combat capabilities and weapon skill.

 

Nines (9)

Meant for nobility, Nines are raised in leadership and managerial positions. Naturally adept at socializing and handling lower classes.

 

Queens (Q)

Meant for religious services, Tens are raised for various clerical positions. Naturally devout and spiritually inclined as they deliver the word and intent of the Dealer.

 

 

 

Kings (K)

Born to rule and commonly the highest force in the Kingdom (exceptions being the Queen-ruled Spades Kingdom and co-ruling state of Clovers Kingdom). Generally natural born leaders with skills in negotiation and battle.

Meant for royal leadership occupations, Jacks support the King and Queen in a number of tasks.

 

Born to rule alongside the King (with the exceptions being the matrilineal line of Spades Kingdom and equal-ruling system of Clovers Kingdom). Generally natural caretakers with high intrapersonal skills.   

 

Markless (  )

Those born without a Suit/Numeral pair to define them. Considered worthless.
